I can’t believe that I am preparing for the last Muswell Hill Creatives Christmas Fair for 2021.  The weather forecast is a little dodgy, and I was doing a little good weather dance as I wrote this.  It didn’t work, and while wet weather won’t keep us away, high winds do.  We had to postpone from 27 November to Saturday 11 December.  Same time, same place.  Then on Sunday 12th I will be at a new Christmas Market hosted by the Maynard Arms in Crouch End.  See the flyer below for details.

Christmas Gifts

As always the focus for the winter fair is on Christmas Gifts.   Alongside the usual range of small goods – belts, card wallets – I will be showcasing my new line of photo frames.  These frames are small and designed to hang easily from a drawing pin.  When teamed with an old format photo (for those who haven’t fully embraced the digital age) they make great gifts.   I will have my popular favourites – doorstops, pen cases and watch straps.  Do you need a coffee cup sleeve for the coffee you have to keep you warm.  There may be a low key Christmas decoration or two…

Other gift ideas include glasses cases, key cases and the promise of things to come –  a gift voucher for a bespoke item, or maybe a name tag as a promise of travel.   Okay they used to be called luggage tags, but that felt a little optimistic recently.  Pets aren’t forgotten either, I have just received some lovely sky blue leather in that makes great collars. As always I will have a selection of bags with me.

Or, how about a gift voucher that gives a loved one the experience of designing their own item.  Visiting me in my Wood Green studio they get to select the style, leather, stitching, lining and fittings that gives them the bag they want.  Or maybe they would prefer a custom made box for their watch collection, or gaming dice, maybe a guitar strap.

Small, medium or large, for evening use, daytime use, as a laptop case, traditional satchel, to carry documents, sheet music case or a carry case for a conductors baton.  I make everything from scratch, create the patterns, I cut all the leather by hand using a traditional saddlery head knife, so I am not tied to a particular pattern or size.  Everything is truly bespoke.

Closing Date for Orders

I still have some capacity to make small orders in time for Christmas delivery, but larger items are now on pause until the new year.  Orders for made to measure belts, bespoke card wallets and watch straps are being taken up until 15 December

And if you like my stuff, but it isn’t the right time, take a look at the other stalls.  With another twenty odd gifted creatives setting out their stall, you will be able to find that special gift.
