Lacing on replacement seat for Rudolf Szedleczky style lounge chair
I would like to say a big thank you of my customers who kept me busy over the last year or two. Now I am finally able to schedule in some much needed R & R time.
From 17 January until 6 February 2022, I will be out of the studio, flat out, in a warm location, spending my time relaxing, visiting a beach and watching some cricket.
It has been a very interesting year, and I have had lots of different projects come across my workbench.
One of my most enjoyable ones was the refurbishment of this Rudolf Szedlecsky chair, it was both challenge to work out some of the detailing, and a joy to work with such beautiful veg tan leather. Metropolitan Leather supplied the light tan lamport used for the project, and I made the lacing and hand stitched the panels as required.
Figuring out the lacing was also a new skill learned. It might be because I will be on holiday, but the photo here reminds me of turtle tracks on a sandy beach.
I am leaving the building for three weeks and look forward to coming back relaxed and refreshed, ready to tackle all that 2022 has for me. See you then I hope.
