My collars and leads in English bridle leather are usually a classic style.  They work brilliantly for most dogs, but sometimes something a little different is required.  Laura, a very experienced dog owner, has a lovely, but very reactive, spaniel “Q”.  She asked me to make up a collar that would help reduce Q’s discomfort when having a collar put on, or to a lead being attached to his collar.

The result was collar with a plastic side press clip and additional D rings so that there was minimal fuss when fitting it, or when attaching a lead.

We worked together to get the correct size, and the best placings of the D’s and this has worked well.  For the family at least, but Q is still a bit nervous  when in boarding kennels.

So this time Laura asked me to make up a short fitting that could be left of the collar, but that sits at right angles to make attaching a lead less scary for Q.

Laura explained what she wanted to achieve, so we worked on a design which was workable for what was needed.  I then made it up.  Q’s visits to kennels will now be a lot less stressful.
