On 1 October 2019 I was delighted to be accepted as a member of Muswell Hill Creatives.  I had previously attended some of their markets as a guest stall holder, and love their vibe and passion for what they do.  As someone who often works alone in my studio, I also valued the chance to interact with other people in a similar position to myself.

Muswell Hill Creatives was founded in 2014 and brings together local artists and makers united by a desire to create original, high-quality products through skilled workmanship. This small collective includes those who have had full careers in the creative sector, as well as some who have re-trained, or have simply returned to an old passion for creating.

Each creative places a high value on interaction with other members, as many of them work alone; indeed, this interaction was the primary reason for establishing the collective. The creatives have their own businesses, but also come together to sell their work as the Muswell Hill Creatives.  For me, the support I have received from the group has already paid dividends in many more opportunities.

The collective was founded by Rachael Booth-Clibborn with members Jess Albert, Lito Apostolakou, Liz Harrap Horton, Tania McLaren, Isabella Lepri Ceramics, Rachel Orme, Shelley Zetuni  and Michele Wyckoff Smith.

Other members have come and gone from the collective since it began.  One of the intentions is to ensure that the six monthly membership gave members the flexibility to use all the benefits of belonging to the collective at different points in their business’ creative development.  You can find all current members on their website here Our Creatives and former members on the Alumni page.
